{"id":55981,"date":"2024-11-04T11:27:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-04T16:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdtimes.com\/?p=55981"},"modified":"2024-11-04T11:27:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T16:27:53","slug":"aerospike-kubernetes-operator-3-4-adds-better-backup-and-scalability-capabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdtimes.com\/data\/aerospike-kubernetes-operator-3-4-adds-better-backup-and-scalability-capabilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Aerospike Kubernetes Operator 3.4 adds better backup and scalability capabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The database company <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospike.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aerospike<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has announced the latest version of its Kubernetes Operator with new features that improve backup and scalability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aerospike Kubernetes Operator (AKO) enables users to simplify management and monitoring of their Aerospike databases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AKO 3.4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> incorporates the recently launched <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospike.com\/docs\/tools\/backup-service\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aerospike Backup Service<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ABS), which allows for easy management of backup jobs across Aerospike clusters. ABS runs on a VM or Docker container and provides a set of REST API endpoints for backing up and restoring database clusters. It allows for both full and incremental backups, supports the creation of different backup policies and schedules, and offers usability improvements over the traditional <code>asbackup<\/code> and <code>asrestore<\/code> command line tools.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, with this release, the company has doubled the default resource limits to better support customers needing to scale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another new capability in AKO 3.4 is the ability to pause all AKO operations and then easily resume them when ready.
