{"id":54030,"date":"2024-03-14T16:10:28","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T20:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdtimes.com\/?p=54030"},"modified":"2024-03-14T16:10:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T20:10:28","slug":"circleci-enables-automated-rollbacks-in-latest-offering-circleci-releases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdtimes.com\/cicd\/circleci-enables-automated-rollbacks-in-latest-offering-circleci-releases\/","title":{"rendered":"CircleCI enables automated rollbacks in latest offering: CircleCI releases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CircleCI just announced a new feature that will allow developers to automate their release orchestration processes from within the CircleCI UI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the company, the main benefit of this new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/circleci.com\/docs\/release\/releases-overview\/#labels-and-annotations?utm_medium=arpr&amp;utm_source=outer&amp;utm_campaign=arpr-outer-content-2024q4_2025&amp;utm_content=custom---\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CircleCI releases<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feature is that it can give developers greater confidence in their releases and reduce mean-time-to-recovery for issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Key capabilities that will come with CircleCI releases include the ability to connect CI\/CD with customer experiences, automated rollbacks, real-time service validation, and performance degradation prevention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The releases dashboard shows a timeline of releases for all components (with details on each), a list of release environments, and a list of components and their associated projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf you look at every other deploy and release vendor on the market, they\u2019re built to service centralized release and operations teams who want tighter control over deploys,\u201d said Rob Zuber, CTO of CircleCI. \u201cBut this doesn\u2019t reflect the reality of elite software teams who depend on developers to drive and deliver fast innovation. Our approach to CircleCI releases provides a developer-centric workflow that enables them to ship faster and monitor new features in production coupled with the safety net of quickly rolling back releases if something goes wrong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This feature is now available for all CircleCI customers at no additional cost.
